Posts from Kids: Share your stories! > Hydrangeas' water needs and other questions

Dear Marcos and everyone else,

I put Marcos' question---"How much water do hydrangeas need?" just like that into Google, and got many good answers (not all the same, by the way---take note, gardeners!). WHEN IN DOUBT, look it up! I always do. There might be something I forgot about from the time before, or some new idea or experience about the question. Besides, it's fun. It's like talking to a hundred different gardeners from all over the country or the world, and we all care about the same things. You are joining a huge community!

IN GENERAL, for most plants, you want the soil to be moist but not too moist. But note the specifics for hydrangeas and the TIME element---time of year.

In case you cannot Google at school, I will copy the top results of the search below. At home you can do your own search with the same question.

PLEASE NOTE: when I copy some information from the Net or wherever, I put it between double lines like this: ======

Marcos, read your information below. Anyone else who has time, you will see models for other questions you may want to ask about other plants.
I hope you enjoyed your day off from school. I am busy getting supplies ready for tomorrow. See you then!

Ms. M
